From directing feature-length documentaries to producing stop-motion animation and original podcasts, I explore human memory, regional culture and oddities, humor, pop culture and philosophy across screen and audio formats.

Documentary filmmakers Joe Zook and Craig Harmer follow electro-pop duo FINKEL as they set out to write a record from within the frozen forests of their hometown - Michigan's isolated and eccentric Mackinac Island.

Commissioned by the Grand Rapids Public Museum to produce a concert-length video art film for an immersive, full-dome concert experience. Created in collaboration with Steve Leaf, who composed and performed the original music.

Official lyric video for FINKEL's "White Elephant" from the Islanders album. Features tactile textures crafted from digital scans of construction paper, with animation designed and compiled in Adobe After Effects.

Official music video for legendary ska-punk band Mustard Plug. Captured in a single day on location at the newly reopened, unrenovated historic Four Star Theatre in Grand Rapids.
FINKEL: Miami Vacation

A collaborative music video featuring crowdsourced footage from friends and fans. Built using a unique digital-analog-digital workflow where raw video was recorded to physical VHS tape, digitized, and re-edited to merge digital, analog, and electropop aesthetics.

A lo-fi travelogue compiled from a trip to the City of Angels. Shot entirely in native 240p on an AA-battery-powered camera sourced from a Walgreens photo desk, set to a soundtrack by Anders Enger Jensen.

A decade-long documentary project born of an unyielding enthrallment with Brooklyn's Floyd Bennett Field, the city's first commercial airport. Drawn from hours of personal footage captured primarily on VHS, this work serves as an exploration of artistic struggle, creative paralysis, and persistence.

Nonessential Business was a weekly audio variety show produced during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Hosted by The Reverend Joey Z and a revolving door of correspondents and contributors, this weekly show provided a small reprieve from the daily doldrums while the world sheltered in place.
